Shouting from the Mountain Top!

by Suzy Oge on December 12, 2011

Wow! Launching “STRONG is the New Black” has been such a thrill! Your reactions have been phenomenal!

Just before sharing it publicly, I had a moment where I looked at the site and thought… Yikes, maybe too many mountain photos?  If you didn’t know better, you might get the wrong impression that I am a rugged outdoorsy woman; not exactly me and not exactly what this site is all about.

But yesterday I received an email from a friend in St. Louis thanking me for SHOUTING FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOP and urging me to keep on shouting; until she and others like her really get moving!  This friend, along with many of you commented that the way I sound is even more amazing than the way I look! Wow, I am so ecstatic that this came across! My message is simply that you can feel better, not eventually, but right away! I was already feeling euphoric and sounding like this in the first week of working out (with weights), no joke. So, I’ve shouted it from the Mountain Top and evidently you’ve heard me. Excellent!

Hopefully, some of you will start sharing your comments and questions here on this site with everyone, but for now I am happy to keep getting your emails and private messages, etc. If you are feeling inspired, stuck, want to share a struggle, success or milestone with someone who “gets it”, I’m here for you!

Lastly, I have to say the reactions from Justin and Chris Thacker of The Lab Gym blew me away! The extent to which they celebrate the transformation of each of their clients is remarkable. I am just one example of the potential of their program and stories like mine are the reason they do what they do. They were obviously surprised by this site, which was fun like an early Christmas present; and they truly appreciate the way I’ve chosen to share my story. I am such a fan of The Lab that if they had some horrible BEFORE photo of me, in a sports bra with all three of my enormous belly rolls hanging over the top of spandex shorts, I would let them publish it! I promise to post some “before photos” here soon, but too bad (for them), there is no such “horrific” photo. So instead, I will just continue to say thank you.

Shouting from the mountain top is actually the perfect moment to say thank you. Let me tell you, it feels great!
