You survived Christmas, now get on with your life!

Christmas is over- tree is on the curb! This was the status update of my friend  Skip, at 5pm on December 25th!!

As you can imagine, this prompted a flood of outraged comments. You might find Skip’s action a bit extreme? So I say go ahead and keep the tree, but TRASH THE TREATS! Get the crap out of your house TODAY!

Homemade cookies, Grandma’s fudge, boxes of chocolates, leftovers…YESTERDAY’S TREATS ARE TODAY’S TRASH! The indulgences you decided were worth it yesterday, don’t need to linger with you for days. Put it all behind you like a One Night Stand and move on!

You don’t want to waste food items? In the spirit of the season, be generous. Give them away for someone else to enjoy; re-gift asap, share with your lonely neighbor, whatever.

When you are on a path to getting fit, or hoping to get on that path; take it one day, one meal, one workout, one rep at a time. Feeling like it is You vs. the Holiday Season can seem overwhelming. Christmas is just one day and New Years too; with plenty of days to workout and eat healthy in between. Try not to look at this week as a hopeless landslide of temptations, that you have no control over until January 1. You decide what’s worth it to you, and just take it one thing at a time.
